The Book of Genesis Bundle

Introduction:

An understanding of the book of Genesis is fascinating

and important. God’s relationship to people and the grace he

sprinkled on them can be seen throughout its pages.

Noah’s Flood:

The account of the flood in the book of Genesis tells us many details of what transpired in Noah’s day. Additionally, scientific research also focuses on the problem of Noah building such a structure, as described in Genesis, and gathering and sheltering two of every animal.

I conducted much of my research in my years as a Bible student at what is now called Columbia International University. Dr. Raymond Scott’s courses on the book of Genesis and the Old Testament helped me gather some of the information that follows. Information from his courses are used by permission.

In this download, you will receive:

A general overview of the events that take place in Genesis 6-9, including:

* What happened in the historic event.

Noah’s Flood Continued:

* A detailed look into the building of an ark and the evidence that

two animals of each species could have easily fit on the ark.

* A look at what may have happened to the ark.

You will also receive blank copies of handouts for use in the classroom or in a
Bible study or small group.

Prominent People of Genesis:

The people of Genesis are important to study. They encompass many firsts in
history. We can learn a lot from them.

In this document, you will find thirty-nine people with information pertaining
to their names, where you can find them in Genesis, family members,
livelihoods, and what they were known for. Following the filled in charts, you
will find blank ones that can be used in this study.

Life of Joseph:

Introduction to the unit:

So many of us grew up in dysfunctional families and much of the

chaos and break-up of the family unit is a result of this legacy. How does one
recover from and flourish, in spite of growing up in

situations that were far from the way that God desires for each of

us? A large answer to this question can be found in the study of the life of
Joseph, an individual who came from a far from ideal family. We will study the
specifics of the dysfunction of Joseph’s family and work our way through the
lessons that Joseph learns in often unbelievably horrid situations.

In each section of Joseph’s life, I will provide a completed handout and then,
following these, I will provide blank handouts so that you can pass these out
for your students to fill in. I will be using the New International Version of the
Bible but the worksheets can be adjusted to other versions. After the
worksheets, I will provide some teaching notes for each section of Joseph’s
life.
