Mistakes: Don’t Confuse Mistakes with Poor Choices – Bible Study Plan

This Bible Study series provides Bible teachers, Sunday school teachers, pastors and small group leaders with ideas and scripture that refer to a specific subject.

If you’re studying a passage in the Bible that deals with, for example, doubt, you can use these Bible study units to supplement your study, providing you with introduction ideas and helps you focus on real-life applications.

Why is it important to distinguish between mistakes and poor choices? It’s because of the difference between the two. One major difference between mistakes and poor choices is intent.

A mistake is unintentional, and a poor choice is deliberate (even if the action is reflexive). It is a mistake if I pick up the wrong candy bar; I make a poor choice by stealing the candy bar.
