He’s Not Hiding

1948) Part of my daily routine for years has been to read the morning newspaper. In fact, the few days a year it doesn’t come out, and on Sundays when our paper isn’t published, I miss it.

One thing I don’t like about reading the paper is how biased it is to only one side of the political and spiritual point-of-view. Yes, there is an occasional doggy bone it throws out for their more conservative readers, but this is overshadowed with the other.

As I read the paper this morning, I was moved by the number of articles there were about “bad news”. There were murders, political cataclysmic predictions, conflicts in the workforce and the latest cars which skidded off the roads in our winter weather.

As I stared at my computer screen, I wondered where the light was in all this darkness. Then the Holy Spirit reminded me of John 1:5. Here John says the light always shines in the darkness and it will not be overcome.

So I say, look for the light in all that is going on in your life. After all, Jesus called himself the Light of the World. John 8:12.

Look for him. He’s not hiding.
