A New Day

1919) When working with children, it is important to teach them that each new day gives a new opportunity to start fresh, without the mistakes of yesterday being held over their heads. This is a hard concept to teach because we live in a world that has often appointed itself to be judge and jury over individuals.

Are there times when our actions bring consequences that last beyond the day of the bad choice? Of course, but when we come to God in repentance, he gives a new day.

Psalm 118:24 tells us this is a day God has made so rejoice and be glad. The words “has made” emphasizes the gift God has given as a new start for his children.

It has nothing to do with deserving and everything to do with grace.

Today is a new day. What will you do with it?
