1878) I have been blessed with a superior imagination. My mind immediately creates images and connections without my prompting. While this can be a bad thing, as it allows me to see all that could go wrong, it can also be used profitably.
A very familiar verse, Isaiah 41:10, takes on a stronger meaning when I use my imagination. Here’s what my mind sees:
Fear not, for I am with you – I see myself standing at a door, afraid to open it but Jesus shows up at my side. Don’t be discouraged because I am Your God (Elohim – the all-powerful God) – I see God guarding me. I will strengthen you – I see God reminding me we trained for situations like this one.
I will help you – I see God beside me, ready to tell me what I should do. I will hold you up with my righteous right hand – I see God with his hands out, waiting to catch me if I fall.
Taking the time to look closer at a familiar verse can give you insights you hadn’t imagined.
