1874) I was reading a well-known verse recently; one so well-known I sometimes don’t stop and reflect. The verse is Jeremiah 29:11.
 
When I stop and meditate on verses, I often look them up in their original language (Hebrew, in this case) and look up what those words mean. Here’s what my study discovered:

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh,
Thoughts of peace and not evil I give to you.
A future and a hope.
 
Within this literal translation, I see:

The “to be” God (one who always was, is and will be) thinks of me.
This God only wants peace for me and not evil, (even when I have no idea why God allows things.)
God wants me to live in the hope (assurance) that he will be with me each step in this life and the next one.
