1796) It amazes me that I will often hear my husband singing a Christmas song softly while he does things, no matter what time of year it is. When I hear this impromptu concert, I sometimes think of a song that meant a lot to me as a child.
I can remember being very young and hearing The Little Drummer Boy. Even at this early age, I listened closely to the words. I realized any gift, even if it is small, can hold a high value.
Ephesians 5:2 tells us of a gift we can give God and it is loving others. These gifts might be sending a text, reminding the receiver they are not forgotten. It might be inviting a widower to dinner every week. It might be gracious words to the retail worker who is clearly stressed.
It’s important we remember that anything we do in love is a gift to God.
