1728) I’ve been thinking about what motivates people to do things. Motivators can include good health, a paycheck, the rules of the court, fear, and social obligations. Some of these aren’t bad things to motivate you and yet there is one that needs to be at the top of our list and that is love.
John 14:15 tells us that love is the best motivator for keeping God’s commands. If you don’t care about your health, don’t have a regular job, ignore court orders, if you are no longer afraid of retaliation and don’t care about social obligations, love is still a call to action.
God doesn’t want us to follow him for any other reason than because we love him. It is from the place of love that our gift to him is the trust that his way is better than ours.
Love is the best motivation.
