It is in times like this when Genesis 16:13 can truly be a comfort. Here, Hagar, Abraham’s baby mama, is being mistreated by Sarah. She runs to the wilderness to get away from the scorned woman and feels forgotten and alone.
It is in this place the angel of the Lord reminds her God sees her. He knows what’s going on. He feels the pain of his child and he reaches out to help her right when she needs it.
Sometimes it’s easy to think God does not see us in our suffering, but there are many verses in the Bible which remind us that he does.
