1720) The subject of this minute is money. I have found that division among people on this subject can be deadly. It really doesn’t matter what part of money you’re wrestling with, budgeting, saving and even spending can cause many problems. I don’t think many who are honest would disagree.
What I find interesting is that money or the lack of it becomes such a priority in life. The default thinking of many is that having money would make your life so much better. The author of Ecclesiastes 5:10 disagrees.
Here, the Preacher tells us money will not bring satisfaction. Is this true? Take the time to examine anyone who has earned or inherited large amounts of money. Are their lives wonderful, full of joy, or do these people suffer, perhaps more than those who don’t have it?
If money truly brings happiness and satisfaction. If money always turns someone to God. If money always brings the plan of salvation to the world, God would have told us so.
When it comes to money, we need to ask ourselves, will I be satisfied with having more?
