1655) There are so many things we have the right to do or say. This can be a good thing. When a wrong has been done, we have the right to speak up. We can intervene when needed. It is within our rights to demand something we are entitled to. Yet, many of these “rights” we have may not always be good.
Is speaking up always helpful? Are there times when our intervention is preventing someone else from learning to be an advocate for themselves? And, just because we are entitled to something, do we need to claim it?
1 Corinthians 6:12 tells us this very thing. Here Paul says that all things are lawful but not all things are helpful.
How can we discern the difference? That’s where prayer is important. God promises to guide us. John 16:13
