1647) All the teachers at my school have duties besides what takes place in our classrooms. Some have lunch duty; you get to eat lunch with 10-year-old boys (along with their classmates). I know, right! If you want to lose a bit of weight, watch boys this age eat.
Sometimes, when we’re on our way from the classroom to the lunchroom, the kids at the front turn the corner and I cannot see them for a moment. Unfortunately, these seconds are when some of my young scholars decide to do or say something hurtful to someone else near them. They know this is the time to do such things because I cannot see them. For a moment, I have limited eyesight.
When reading 1 Samuel 16:7, it occurred to me we all have limited eyesight. Here, we are reminded that we observe the outward appearance of others but not the heart. God sees this. This limited eyesight is not the complete picture.
Let’s remember today that we have limited eyesight. What we see isn’t the entire picture. Being kind will always help.
