1640) Many of us struggle in our Christian faith because we read verses like John 16:33 and read or pay attention to only the first part. It says, “…in me you (will) have peace.”

Does God give us peace? Of course he does, but when we don’t read the rest of this verse, we aren’t seeing the entire picture. It says, “In the world you will have tribulation.” Period. This life is full of difficulties and that truth is hard to bear. It’s like life keeps stacking boxes on us and won’t let up. BUT….

The end of the verse says, “…take heart; I have overcome the world.” Y

es, God gives us peace. Yes, life can and will weigh us down. And yes, God will right all the wrongs and lift every burden in his timing. After all, he promises not to give us too much to bear and when it seems like he has, remember he promises to help.  1 Corinthians 10:13, Matthew 11:28-30
