Truth Misunderstood

1637) In this life, some things are beyond dispute, yet we live in a world that insists on disputing them. An example of this is in the subject of truth.

Truth really isn’t a word that’s complicated. Either something is wholly true or it’s not, but the debate of this subject started way back in the Garden of Eden and it’s dangerous.

Satan started out of the gate convincing Eve, and later Adam, there are versions of the truth. “Did God really say you aren’t to eat the fruit off the tree?” and then boldly states, “You shall not die.” Satan convinces them God tells lies. (Genesis 3) Satan is clever because he knows saturating the truth with a “half-truth” is effective with people.

Jesus warned in John 8:44 that Satan is the Father of Lies and we are living when many no longer believe in absolute truth; they have been convinced that half-truths are the same thing.

There is no debate. Truth must be wholly true or it no longer is the truth. Jesus didn’t say he was one of the Ways, the Truths and the Lives (John 14:6).

Never hesitate to stand up for the truth.
