1601) The end of the year 2023 has been difficult in my home. We’ve had the death of my father, utility poles broken (the power lines damaged twice), a generator die, three teeth needing crowns, Covid for the second time, serious health issues, cars breaking down and more. My husband and I have sat together in the evenings in a stupor. We are waiting to see what else can go wrong. Maybe you can relate?
As we have sorted through financial navigation in repairs and replacements, and scheduled medical specialists, I have sat in the chair of confusion.
I believe God allows anything that comes my way. I am grateful that God has provided for us, and yet, I still look through the cloud of confusion. Does this mean I have a lack of faith? Some may think so; I do not.
1 Corinthians 14:33 tells us God is not a God of confusion, but peace. God does not get confused or surprised by anything that comes our way. He does not second-guess anything he does. Because we’re created in his image, we have this desire for clarity but, in this life, this will not always happen. This is the time when our faith gets challenged.
In all the difficulties we face, being confused is normal, but we can rest because God is not confused.
