The Big Three

1573) I love to read quotes by authors and their books. A lot of times, these quotes give me a snapshot of the best from their writings. I have a whole quote book where I have listed important ideas through the years and Romans 12:12 should definitely be added.

In this verse, Paul gives us a lifetime of wisdom in just 10 words. He says, “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Let’s examine these words.

Be joyful in hope. Hope in this verse means to have confidence because you are certain you can trust. Patient means waiting that allows perseverance. Faithful in this verse emphasizes a consistency; a routine choice. Let’s put this all together.

Allow yourself to be joyful because you know you can trust God. Wait for God to send his help at the right time during difficult circumstances. Never stop praying; make it a daily routine.

Have joy, patience and dedication in your life because there is hope, affliction to be withstood and learned from and a relationship with God that is ongoing.
