Bodies, Old and New

1535) As children, our bodies (usually) grow bigger and stronger. When this growth and strength reaches its peak, our bodies begin to shrink and weaken. Is there anything we can do about this? Not really. We can keep fit, giving this degeneration a slower pace but, ultimately, our bodies will wear out.

Paul addresses this in 2 Corinthians 5:1-4. Here, he tells us our bodies will wear out but that God has new ones for us in the next world.

I cannot imagine having more than the strength of my teens and twenties and a body that doesn’t break down. This alone encourages me to hang in there because the old will pass away, but the new will be forever.
