1527) When I read the Psalms, I find that David spends a lot of time talking to God about all his enemies. This makes sense to me, as I know David lived in a time when Israel had many enemies and war was often imminent.
As David processes yet another attack, we see many verses like Psalm 3:3 where he describes God as being his shield and then he requests God protect him from his enemies.
Because these verses seem like they’re only addressing a time of war and battles with other nations, it’s easy to just glance over these pleas for protection. But what if these pleas also describe attacks from within our own minds? What if the biggest and most effective weapon our enemy (Satan) uses against us is our own faulty thinking?
I believe God yearns for us to ask him for protection and sometimes we need to be protected from ourselves.
