A Promise Worth Noting

1509) When I was a child, we had a code most of us lived by. If we said something of importance, another child would say, “Cross your heart?” and we’d do this with our fingers, promising we would follow through and do whatever we were referring to.

Promises don’t seem to mean the same today and this is evident in the number of lawsuits that are filed. Perhaps this is just human nature; to make promises we cannot or don’t plan to keep, but sometimes we get the idea that God operates in this manner, too.

In Joshua 1:5-6, God promises Joshua that he would neither leave him or abandon him and we can read the rest of the book and see this is true.

Even though people can fail to keep their promises, God does not. Take note.
