1465) How reliable are you? If you say you will do something, do you do it? Are you on time? Do your supervisors have to check and see if you’ve done what you are supposed to or do they know from recent history that you are reliable?
Joshua 1:1-5 reminds us God will always keep his promises. That’s nice to know, but what promises is God making? In these verses, God promises Joshua several things.
First, God promises he will give his people the land of Canaan (vs. 2). He then tells Joshua that he promises the same things he promised Moses (vs. 3).
Next, God promises Joshua that no one will stand against him when he’s doing what God asks him to do (vs. 5). God also promises not to abandon Joshua and his people.
These promises and the others in God’s word are things we, as God’s children, can count on. Why? Because God is always reliable.
