1395) When God created people, he sought a relationship with us. The earliest record is his relationship with Adam and Eve and continued all the way through the end of the Bible. You will read many passages that give evidence that God wanted (and wants) to have a close relationship with people, but I think it’s interesting that it’s by invitation only. What do I mean?

Revelation 3:20 tells us God knocks on the door of our hearts. Why does he knock? Because he has given us the ability to choose to invite God into our lives or not. The essence of choice shows acceptance, and the consequences of our choice are our responsibility.

That the almighty God gives us this choice is mind-boggling. We serve a God who created us with the capacity to love him, by choice; by invitation only.
