Saturated

1383) I have read several accounts of people who claim to have died and gone to heaven and then, for one reason or another, have come back to earth on the other end of a near-death experience. When I have read these stories, I try to leave my judgment aside and “listen” to what the person has to say.

I do not know whether these people truly spent some time with God (unless it’s clear there are contradictions of the Scriptures in the few places that address these types of events) but I think I have seen at least one consistent statement in most of these accounts. Almost everyone said that once in the presence of God and his heaven, they overwhelmingly did not want to return to earth. My next natural question is, why?

I think Psalm 103:8 tells us why. When we’re in the presence of God, we’ll cling to him because David tells us God is compassionate, merciful, slow to anger and filled with love.

Just think, if we will be saturated with compassion, mercy, patience and love, who would want to return to this earth?

The bottom line for me is I cannot know whether someone’s experience with the next life is true (assuming no Scriptural contradictions), but I can know that one day, this saturation will be mine and I’ll bask in it, eternally.
