Neighborhood Watch

1366) Anyone who owns a dog knows you do not have to teach it to bark when someone shows up at your house. In my home, my little dog hates the plow guy. Anytime he comes to move the snow off our long driveway, my dog’s hackles rise, he pulls his ears back, and I believe the plowman can hear his bark.

This scene came to mind as I read Proverbs 4:23 because the writer admonishes us to guard our hearts, what goes into it and what comes out of it, because our actions follow what’s embedded there.

If we could do half the job of guarding our hearts that my little dog does at my house, we would be in good shape.
