Your Heart’s Reflection

1364) I was getting my car serviced recently and while I was waiting, a car pulled into a space that caused a bright reflection of the sun to bounce off the glass and into my eyes. It amazed me how bright the reflection was, even though it wasn’t directly from its source.

It reminded me of Psalm 37:30-31, where David tells us that our actions reflect what’s in our hearts. His specific example was that anyone who speaks with wisdom and guards justice reflects what they have rooted there. The opposite is true, as well. The person whose words are full of poison reveal a poisoned heart.

Because these things are true, setting a guard over our mouths is wise. Psalm 141:3
