Do Be: Peaceable

1327) No matter where we go, we always leave a shadow. When we come into a room. When we make a comment. When we work with others. In these places, our shadow invades. The question is, what is your shadow made up of?

Paul tells us in Titus 3:2 to be peaceable. This word means not being contentious.

Someone who is contentious always has to be right; they’d rather be right than happy. They are constantly stirring up trouble in what they say and even in their body language. This shadow comprises poison and it’s easy to see in others but is often obscure to us.

Because being contentious is often overlooked in ourselves, we need to be aware of our shadows. What do we leave with others when our interactions are over? Do we make others feel better about themselves? Do we leave a shadow of gossip that fogs the environment?

Dare to analyze your shadow. It can make a big difference in everyone’s lives, including yours.
