1297) While growing up, my parents had the wisdom to require that we help around the house. They knew we needed these skills to not only help at the time but for when we had our own homes.
In requiring these things, sometimes our small hands did not have the experience to know when washing certain things, we needed to be gentle with them. This led to a few unfortunate times when dishes were broken, but the lesson of gentleness was worth it.
Paul reminds us of the power of gentleness in our relationships. We do not know how fragile someone is so a practice of using gentleness is an excellent practice. 2 Timothy 2:25
The next time you are washing dishes, perhaps the lesson of gentleness will come to mind.
