Can you Relate? Teachable

1295) In my years as a teacher, I have had the opportunity to conduct workshops for adults. I have enjoyed this, usually, but I must admit, the hardest group of adults I have had to teach are when I am speaking to other teachers.

I’m not sure why this is, but I’m guessing some of it is because teachers have established successful ways to impart their lessons and when it’s time to absorb someone else’s material, it rubs against their ways.

A wise teacher (or anyone who is wise) will recognize that being teachable is a valuable thing. There is always something to learn and these lessons often are not even in a classroom.

If we approach each day and say, What can I learn today? I wonder how much more we can enrich our lives and relationships. And, if we have learned things, we have the possibility of passing these things to others. 2 Timothy 2:24.
