Miracles are Overrated

1255) Through the years, I have kept a quote book where I jot things that strike me as interesting, intriguing and everything in-between. Here’s one of my favorites: “Faith for a miracle is easier to come by than trusting the Lord when no miracle happens.” Margaret Graham.

Sometimes, we put too much emphasis on miracles. This doesn’t mean they don’t happen. I think they do and since God says we are to bring everything to him, I certainly don’t think praying for a miracle is wrong. I think it’s interesting that throughout scripture, we are instructed to have faith, not for a miracle, but because of the trials we endure in this life.

Paul tells us in 2 Thessalonians 1:4 that we need to hold on to our faith because it is what we need to make it through difficulties; for times when God chooses not to perform a miracle.

Sometimes miracles are overrated.
