The closest Walmart is 50 miles and if you want to go to the movies, you drive just under two hours. Because we are off the beaten path, sort-of-speak, when there are fierce storms, we often lose power. For any of you who have lost power for multiple days, it’s frustrating and can be deadly.
When you experience a gap in your power supply, you feel it. Even if you have a generator, you feel a disconcertedness. Why? Because electricity is so necessary in the way we live.
Have you ever considered there can be such “gaps” in our spiritual lives? This is what Paul is referring to in 1 Thessalonians 5:17. The verse simply reads, “Pray Continuously.” The word for continuously means to do something, with no gaps. Prayer is a continual conversation. Even if you must do many important things in your life, this conversation can be picked up and continued.
It is amazing to me that the God of all the universe wants to have a continue conversation with me. Stay connected to God this way, with no gaps. It’s vital.
