1241) If I take a moment and think about things people have said to me that I distinctly remember, it would be a mixed bag of good and bad things. I can clearly remember a girl saying to me in the 8th grade that I sucked. I felt so bad hearing this. On the other hand, I can remember equally a time when a college professor noticed I had lost some weight. I asked him if that was good or bad. His words echo in my heart, “You were just fine the way you looked before and you are just fine, now.”
If the words of others can have such a profound effect, what sort of results can come from hearing God’s words to us? Paul reminds us in 1 Thessalonians 2:13 that God has given us his words in the Bible. We have the opportunity to take in his words and let them transform us into better people.
Just think, one day, God’s children will hear his words face to face. Imagine that!
