R & R

1180) Repent is a word that is used a lot in Christian circles, but have you ever taken the time to understand what the word means?

The word repent is used in both the Old Testament and the New. It simply means to change direction. You were going in one direction and then you go the other.

There is something missing in this simplistic definition, though. To repent, you were going in one direction and then you must stop going that way, turn around and then go in the other direction.

Repentance is an active choice and God’s redemption is, too. He wants to redeem all people, no matter what they have done.

Redemption that stems from repentance is God’s gift through His Son. Remember, though, no gift is yours until you accept it.

Thank God for His redemption; it cost Him Jesus’ life.  Ezekiel 33:11
