1112) As a veteran classroom teacher, I have learned long ago the signs that a student is lying to me. Often, they will not look me in the eye; or they may over-explain something or they smile when lying.
There are different words people use for lies. They may call them a half-truth, a white lie or a fib but, in reality, these are still lies.
There are also circumstances and actions that are lies. When you do not keep a commitment. When you cheat on your income taxes. When you say nothing when you should have spoken up. These are forms of lies.
Despite all these frames we may place around lying, the Bible says God does not lie. When he says something, you can count on it. If he promises to do something, you can praise him ahead of time because you know he will.
God’s words are always saturated in truth. No strings attached, no half-truths, no kidding. Numbers 23:19
