1107) As I look back on more years I have lived than I will live in the future, I can see how many of the difficult, horrible or bad things that have happened to me and those I love became something good. How can this be?
The simple answer is God promises to take the bad in our lives and make it good. There are lessons to be learned in difficulties, mistakes and injustice and Joseph, son of Jacob, learned so much.
Joseph realized the bad things his brothers did to him: hating him, selling him as a slave, lying to their father that Joseph was dead, God used for good.
Genesis 50 tells us Joseph realized if these bad things had not happened, the seven years of famine that hit the land at this point in history would have destroyed his family and many others.
Joseph’s difficult circumstances put him in the position of leadership, where he organized a major storage system for food, so when the seven years of famine came, they had all they needed.
God cares enough about you to take the worst life offers and make it good; He is in the re-creation business. Genesis 50:20
