1084) Have you noticed the definition of truth has evolved significantly from meaning, what is “accurate; a reality” to “a fact that is accepted as true.” If you make a stand on “truth,” you often get accused of not being tolerant. The problem with this is fundamental; two opposing facts cannot both be true. A simple example is–the shirt is red; the shirt is blue. Either it is one or the other, but these days, you may hear, “Well, the shirt can look like blue even though I think it’s red. Maybe there are shades of blue in it that make you see it this way, so, perhaps I need to rethink this. I guess I shouldn’t state the shirt is definitively red.”
Jesus said he is the Light of the World (John 8:12) and the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6). He did not say he was “a light” or “a way, a truth and a life.”
Light exposes truth; don’t be afraid to recognize truth and stand on it. Ephesians 5: 9.
