God’s Fruit: Self-Control

1046) Control is something we think a lot about, maybe without even realizing it. Whenever we expect something we don’t like and work to avoid it or whenever we attempt to make someone treat us better, we are seeking control.

The thought is often, If I can control it, then I can avoid….. The problem here is these things are not under our control. As parents throughout the ages have told their children: You cannot control others’ behavior; the only person you can control is you!

God tells us in Galatians 5:22-23 that self-control is vital. We can learn to control what we say. We can learn to control what we do, but so many just take life as it comes and not give this any thought.

What if our politicians, our boss, our spouse, our kids, and we ourselves exercised this fruit more often? Our world would be a far-better place than it is!
