1038) It’s trendy on social media to see demonstrations of love. You can see a video of a man flying a plane with a banner behind it asking his woman to marry him.
There are pictures of weddings online that are elegant and very expensive. Seeing these has always made me wonder how these marriages are going 5 years or more down the line.
Love is a subject that gets thrown around a lot, but we don’t always understand its meaning. In Galatians 5:22-23, the Greek word for love is agapé which is a pure love that God has for people.
This love is always unselfish; never used for selfish purposes. This love gives the ultimate sacrifice of laying down your life for another.
Though agape isn’t referring to romantic love, it is worthy of our effort to emulate.
If we modeled all our relationships around unselfish giving, our divorce rate would drop, our church conflicts would resolve, and our personal relationships would be better.
The fruit of agapé love is worth embracing.
