Reconciled

1030) I have had the privilege of visiting many foreign countries. There is something somewhat magical about being in a place other than the country you live and it can also be a little stressful, especially as you work through immigration and such, just to set foot in these places. As soon as you’ve worked your way through these mazes, there is another place to visit fairly soon. Depending on which country you are in, you will want to visit a bank where you can exchange your money into the currency that country uses, usually for a fee. Whether you come out ahead financially depends on what the exchange rate is. The word exchange in the New Testament Greek often means to be reconciled.

If we must be reconciled before God, 2 Corinthians 5:18, then we must be exchanged from what we were in our worldly life into being forgiven and, therefore, blameless before God. There is a high exchange rate, the death of someone not guilty of all these things and Jesus himself paid for it all.

Reconciliation is valuable; therefore, we should treat it that way.
