974) Have you ever taken the time to quietly sit and reflect on what specific things build you up? As I watch others in the world and in the media, I see many answers to this question. What? You have heard no one ask this, so, therefore, how can I make this conclusion? It’s simple. We only say and do what we believe works for us. If I think that comfort can come from a plate of food, I eat it–even if I’ve never considered that this is what I am doing. If I think my self-esteem will grow by being better than others, I will do it–unless I have taken the time to consider what kind of builder I am.
In Acts 20:32, Paul gives the specific answer to what will build you up physically, emotionally, mentally and, of course, spiritually. What is it? This verse tells us it’s living in the grace that God has given both you and me.
If we would take the time to consider this type of building, it has the power to set us free to be and do all that God wants from us. Grace contains the length and breadth of God’s love. May we take the time to regularly ponder this amazing grace.
