972) Winning is the goal of many in all areas of their lives. They want to win the game, win the best contract, win over the competition and win in power and control. I’m not sure that all desires to win are bad, but have you ever considered just finishing the game, meeting your contracts, serving your customers and using the leadership you have is better?
In Acts 20:13-22, Paul speaks of all he has done for the Lord and yet he only says that his goal is to “finish the race” (verse 24), not “win the race”. In many areas, your winning means others must lose. Isn’t it better to focus on finishing the job(s) God has given you instead of always looking to win?
