928) When Jesus walked the roads of this world, he referred to his father frequently. He would tell those that would listen what his father is like. He said that his father accepts those who come to him through his son. (John 14:6). He gives Jesus the authority over everything. (Matthew 11:27) His father reveals himself to those who seek him. (Matthew 11:25) Jesus was sent to us by his father. (John 16:28) and more.
There is something else that stands out to me about what Jesus said his father was like. In John 3:17, Jesus told Nicodemus that his father doesn’t want to condemn the world; that he’s not out to zap people whenever they make a wrong choice. Instead, the father sent Jesus to extend his grace; salvation, not because we deserve it, but because the punishment has been paid.
If you have the vision of what God the father is like, especially if you base it on what was modeled for you, you might need to adjust your thinking. God is love and because of this love, he is the best father ever.
