The Darkness Does Not Win

927) It is so tempting to turn off all newsfeeds, the TV and stop reading the newspaper. There is so much wrong in the world. I see so many things that started off parallel and then one point gets just a fraction of an inch off. As time goes, that point gets further and further from its intended path. This is how I see so much in this world. No, I’m not missing the fact that there are many beautiful things that co-exist, but sometimes I question whether good is winning.

Regardless of your view of life, there is a truth found in John 1:5 that is so important to hold on to. The darkness does not win. The light of God and his salvation shines and nothing will put it out. Not a dictator. Not a rapist. Not an atomic bomb. Nothing.

So, when I feel sad seeing the darkness in front of me, I need to turn my head and look for the light. It is there and nothing will put it out.
