I Am a Whole Lot better and Worse

782) There is a song that came out by The Choir that when I first heard it (What You Think I Am), it caught my attention. The whole song resonates around one important line within it. It is, “I’m a whole lot better and a whole lot worse than what you think I am.” Candid words shared out of vulnerability of the writer; words that are true.

David knew that these lyrics are true. He admits in Psalm 51 that he’s “a whole lot worse” and in other Psalms, we see he also understands that he is “a whole lot better.” I am comforted by this.

If we are vulnerable with others, it forges a pathway that others can and want to walk down. No one wants to be around someone that pretends they are problem-free. We are what we are and admitting this will bring about a lot of good!
