Taking the High Road Isn’t Easy

663) There are times in this life when circumstances, illness, stress, and strained family relationships become unbearable. It’s also possible these days for someone to choose to make a stand when the push of a society that does not run with God’s laws and principles. This taking of the high road sounds good , but this nobility is costly.

In Exodus 1, the Israelites, who are now slaves, are becoming a threat to Egypt’s Pharaoh. He orders their work increased and, ultimately, the death of any baby boys. During this unimaginable time, there were those who took the high road and refused to obey the king. This placed their lives in the Pharaoh’s hands and yet, a baby boy is born and he is brought up to live in the very palace the authorizer of this mass killing lives.

God honors taking the high road. It may not be realized and/or rewarded in this world, but how beautiful are the examples of those who dared to take the high road. Exodus 1-2
