Be Prepared

645)  It is not unusual for a child to ask you why you do certain things. This is a part of learning, brain development and curiosity.  As the child ages, the questions will not be as frequent but are more situation-specific. 1 Peter 3:15 tells us that if we are living by the principles of God’s word, people will want to know why we do or don’t do specific things. We need to make sure that we are prepared to give the reason why we acted in a specific way, including why we have faith in God. Being prepared before the questions come is important. It should also be pointed out that if no one is asking us why we do the things we do, say or act, maybe it’s because our actions are not aligned with our beliefs.
