What is Owed

2058) In my writing career, I have 6 people who do jobs for me.

I’ve spent a good amount of time looking for and hiring cover designers, promotors, illustrators, website designers, editors and formatters.

These people have skills and time I don’t have. When they complete the jobs and we’re both satisfied, each one bills me for their work and I always pay promptly.

Why? Because it’s the responsible and God-instructed thing to do.

James 5:4 tells us God hears the cry of people who have done a job and haven’t been paid.

I keep in mind that my business reputation continues to build, good or bad.

People continue to accept my job offers because they know I always pay them and have a willing and open mind about what their experiences tell me about how my business needs to run.

It is irresponsible and a bad Christian testimony not to pay the people we hire to work for us.
