2056) Twenty-one years ago, I came down with a serious case of shingles. The disease attacked the right side of my face from my cheekbone and up into my scalp. I
had such a bad reaction; my eye was swollen shut and my doctors feared I would lose my eyesight. Fortunately, I didn’t, but I have had to wear glasses ever since.
Thinking of this, I realize we all have poor eyesight. We can’t see the way God sees, especially when it comes to how we see ourselves.
Psalm 139:14 tells us we are fearfully and wonderfully made. The Hebrew word for fearful is yare’ and it can be translated as reverent.
The Hebrew word for wonderfully is palah and it can be translated as distinguished and extraordinary. God sees a great masterpiece when he looks at us and others.
Because the God of all things sees this, I need to learn to see myself and others this way, too.
Learning to see this way will produce much good.
