2051) Have you ever noticed how children and even dogs have the propensity to want something they have neglected or overlooked when someone or something else wants it?
We sometimes label this indifference as taking it for granted. A natural shift often occurs because you realize, at least in the moment, you do like, value or love it.
Hebrews 13:5 addresses this conundrum. The author tells us we should not spend our time putting too much value on money, including, I believe, the things we don’t have.
Why? Because we need to be content with what we have.
The best way to “re-appreciate” what we have is to take the time to remember why we got or were given these things in the first place.
Of course, a simple way to do this might be to imagine someone else taking our “somethings” and see in our minds what our reactions might be.
