2048) Desiring peace is not the same as wanting happiness and contentment. Peace can inhabit that place within your spirit which longs to understand the things that are often not understandable in this life.
Peace is not something you can buy or even manufacture. It is the result of trusting that even though the rug has been pulled out from under you; you are not alone.
Does this mean God’s children just walk around with rose-colored glasses and dismiss the horrors of this life? I don’t think so. That type of conclusion and reaction is often labeled denial.
Instead, peace is something God gives us. John 14:27 tells us Jesus will give you a piece no one on this earth can give. It’s connected to the fruit of the spirit described in Galatians 5:22-23.
This peace can make a nest in your soul when you acknowledge you have no control over some circumstances in this life. Jesus invites you to step out onto the water, keeping your eyes on him.
Peace is not a feeling; it’s a trust issue.
