2038) I have a class of young scholars that, for the most part, hate school. They say so at least every other day. I don’t take this personally, but I try to find projects that are a little outside the box in hopes it will whet their appetites for becoming better readers and writers.
One thing I’m doing with this class is having a poetry writing unit. These kids have taken to this because they are creators; they love to make things and with some help from me; they are responding positively.
I then decided to take this one step further. I bought a couple of baskets full of watercolor supplies and they’re making another form of art in which they can add their poems and create a beautiful picture.
Watercolor is an interesting art because while working on backgrounds, it’s hard to see what the picture will be. Philippians 1:6 comes to mind as Paul says God has begun a good work in his children and will complete it in the next life.
It’s easy to look at our uncompleted lives and only see a picture that is fuzzy and abstract. Yet God promises to keep adding to this picture and in time, we’ll begin to see how God continues to make our picture clearer and more beautiful.
We may not see the full picture of our lives now, but God does and he’ll keep adding to it. We can marvel at what we see
