2031) It’s funny how kids can say the most profound things. A few weeks ago, I was doing a project with one of my classes and, as I usually do, I demonstrated how to do it by creating a shortened version of what I expect of them.
As the kids were looking at my example, one of them smiled and said, you are so good at so many things. I smiled and replied, what a kind thing to say and notice.
I could have simply just nodded my head in agreement because I’ve been aware since my teen years that I have been given many abilities. I cannot compare my number to how many others have been given, but I recognize I have many.
I have also had numerous opportunities to use these gifts and abilities, and I have done so. I do not consider this a burden, but an opportunity to make the world a little better.
Matthew 25:29 reflects this very thing. It tells us anyone who has will more be given and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. (ESV)
Using the gifts and abilities I’ve been given has reaped so much joy, not only for recipients but for myself.
Dare to look for and discover the gifts God has given you. There are blessings to gain and the possibility of losing them if they’re not used.
